There are seven adult detention centers in King County. For your convenience, we have provided the most frequently resourced information for each facility.
Visitation of an inmate can be a difficult process and being prepared with the many details required of the visitors can ease the process. Please note all requirements thoroughly before scheduling a visit. This can prevent a cancellation or loss of visit. We have also provided direct links for more detailed information unique to each facility.

Take the James Street exit, and head west on James Street. Turn left on 5th Avenue. The facility's entrance is located at the northwest corner of Fifth Avenue and James Street. A variety of public parking facilities are in the immediate vicinity.

Visiting hours are determined by inmate location. It is based upon where is inmate is being held within the jail buy floor, wing, tier and tank. The visitation process is more complex at this detention center due to the high volume of inmates.

Dress code restricts the visitor from wearing miniskirts or similar article of clothing, bare midriff shirts or revealing necklines and shoes are required.

Take the Willis Street exit and proceed east to Fourth Avenue. Turn left on Fourth Avenue, and proceed about one mile to James Street. Turn left on James Street. Take the next left and enter the parking garage.

Guidelines:
Inmates may have two visits per weekend, each lasting up to thirty minutes and includes a maximum of two adult visitors. Visitors must be at least eighteen years of age. Children under eighteen may visit providing a parent or guardian, other than the inmate being visited, accompanies them and remains present during the time of the visit. A maximum of three people are allowed per visit. Example: one (1) adult and two (2) children or two (2) adults and one (1) child. Inmates must submit an Inmate Request Form requesting visitation of children under eighteen. The request must be pre-approved by a Corrections Officer the Friday prior to the day/days of visitation.
Valid photo identification is required. Approved forms of ID are: Valid state-issued driver's license or ID card; military or other government ID card; or passport. All visitors and articles are subject to search.
Excluding DOC inmates, any inmate being held without bail shall not be eligible for visitation until bail is established.
Inmates who are impaired by alcohol/drugs.
Inmates who are under disciplinary action.
Inmates in medical segregation.

Guidelines:
Prior to visitation, the inmate is required to submit a visitors list containing the visitor's full name, date of birth, address and telephone number. Once the information has been verified by staff, the visitor will be approved. Visitors, 18 years of age and older are required to provide a valid, government-issued photo ID and must not have any active warrants. Visitors 17 years of age or younger, must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Legal guardians are required to provide written documentation proving legal guardianship. Visitors are subject to search before and after visitation. Visitors that are not direct family or relatives of the inmate and that have been confined in the Kent Corrections Facility in the last 5 years will not be allowed to visit.

Visitation:
Visitation at the Kirkland Jail is done by video only. In person visitation can be arranged for attorneys, clergy or medical/mental health officials. All inmates housed at the Kirkland Jail who have been arraigned (had a first appearance in court after initial arrest) and who are not housed in disciplinary segregation are eligible for video visitation. Visits are subject to approval per jail guidelines.
Free on-site video visitation takes place on Saturdays only. All visitors must register at www.visitel.us. Your may register either from the console located at the jail or from your own device, and select a 30-minute time slot. This must be done at least 24 hours in advance. Once you have signed up for a time slot, you must report to the Kirkland Jail Visitation Entrance 15 minutes prior to the start of your visit to ensure you receive the full 30 minutes. Late or missed time slots will not be made up.

The public parking lot is to the right at the roundabout.
From I-5 Northbound:
Take the South 200th Street Exit (Exit 151) from Interstate 5. Turn left onto Military Road. Turn left on South 200th Street. Drive approximately one mile and turn left on 18th Avenue South at the SCORE sign. Drive approximately 0.5 miles along SCORE’s driveway before reaching the jail parking lot. The public parking lot is to the right at the roundabout.

Visitation hours may vary base upon each inmates' housing location. Visiting hours apply to the general population. Inmates on disciplinary lockdown may not receive visitation privileges. Visitors will be emailed cancellation notices.
Guidelines:
All visitors must register, schedule and view visits with inmates online at https://gtlvisitme.com/app. If you do not have access to the internet, please call 855-208-7349. All visits must be scheduled at least 24-hours in advance and no more than 7 days out. Only 1 visit per inmate may be scheduled per day and no more than 2 per week.
Lobby visits are free and are in 25-minute increments. All visitors must present valid identification and check in 10 minutes before the scheduled visit. Visitors may not have any active warrants. Three visitors maximum are allowed per visit. Visitors must be 18 years of age or older. Visitors that are 17 years of age or younger must be escorted and supervised by a parent, grandparent or documented legal guardian.
Internet visits are scheduled in 10 or 25-minute increments and have applicable fees. All visits may be canceled by the inmate or visitor up to 24 hours in advance. Cancellations submitted less than 24 hours of a scheduled visit will be counted as a visit.
